- In the real world, Mark Waid lived in Dallas. In The Super Powers Collection: The Effect of the Toy Industry on the Superfriends, he related a story of when he was driving to Los Angeles, he stopped at a K-Mart in Lubbock; where he claims that he just knew that he would find a Super Powers Collection Cyborg action figure; which he did.
